Frequently Asked
Questions |
Q: Why is Petite Paws Bed
& Bark-Inn the best place for my petite canine to stay, other than
home?
A: There are
a lot of places that now offer "gourmet" boarding but small dog owners
know that there is an inherent risk to their toy breed dog whenever they
leave their dogs in a facility with large dogs. Accidents do happen and
minimizing the size difference between dogs keeps them safer.
Q: What is
so special about Petite Paws Bed & Bark-Inn?
A: When you
leave your dogs at Petite Paws Bed & Bark-Inn it is like leaving them at
home. They have lots of time to play in a family environment. They have a
chance to interact with other small, happy, and healthy dogs. We stimulate
their brains and their bodies. There aren't any long days in kennels with
short walks when they are here.
Q: Where
and when will my dog get to go outside?
A:
The dogs are taken outside on lead to potty. Each dog is taken out separately at
least 6 times daily, more if needed. This gives us time alone with the dogs for
playing, walking and cuddles. This also assures that we know what is going on
with the dog as concerns any problems associated with loose bowels, etc. Of
course during extremely cold or rainy days our trips outside are shorter, but
still as frequent.
Q: What
kind of vaccination requirements does Petite Paws have?
A:
Petite Paws requires proof of core vaccinations (Rabies, Parvovirus, Distemper,
Hepatitis, and Parainfluenza ) yearly. Dogs also need to be vaccinated against
Bordatella (kennel cough) every six months. We will also accept a yearly
positive titer as proof of vaccination.
Q: How
much does it cost?
A: See
here
for rates.
Q: What
about doggie daycare?
A: Doggie
Daycare is offered 5 days a week Monday through Friday. Day boarding available by special request on
Saturday and Sunday. The dogs will be grouped according to size and
energy levels. The same vaccination requirements apply for daycare as for
boarding - see above.
Q: Well,
what about Hospice Care?
A: Hospice
care is designed for the elderly, injured, or post-surgical dog. No dogs
with infectious diseases will be accepted. However, dogs requiring
medication or supervision after surgery are more than welcome to come
spend their days convalescing in our special Hospice room. Qualified staff
will provide continual supervision and you can relax knowing that we will
be vigilantly attending to your pet.
